Michael Hufnagel DVM, James Christensen DVM, Robert Cooper DVM
East Valley Equine Practice was founded by Dr. Michael Hufnagel, D.V.M. in 1976. Dr. Ben Hufnagel, D.V.M. joined the practice after graduation in 1996 and practiced here until June of 2006 when he moved to Colorado and started his own equine practice. Dr. James Christensen, D.V.M. began practicing with the Hufnagels after graduating in 2003 and Dr. Robert Cooper, D.V.M. joined the practice in June of 2006.
The majority of our appointments are seen on an ambulatory basis. However, horses can be hospitalized for surgery, daily medical care, and breeding. We also have clients who haul their horses to our facility for out-patient procedures.
Currently, our staff includes three veterinarians, three full-time technicians, and one part-time technician. Our regular hours are from 7:30 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., Monday through Friday with emergency service twenty-four hours a day including weekends and holidays.
